Imperial Garden
This charming little restaurant comes to Colorado straight out of Hong Kong, after a stop in Denver. Their menu offers entrees from a variety of regions in China, including Hunan style, Cantonese, Szechuan, Mandarin and even Thai. There is also a healthy selection of vegetarian dishes. Delivery and takeout are both available. Unusual for a Chinese restaurant, Imperial Garden offers a prix fixe meal that includes four courses.
Golden Boar
It only seats about 50 patrons at a time, but Golden Boar has earned a reputation for some of the best Asian food in the greater Denver area. There are several dozen entrees to choose from, including a number of vegetarian options. They also branch into cuisine from neighboring regions, including Thai, curry and Vietnamese bowl dishes.
Wu’s Garden
This small, family-run restaurant may not have the fanciest décor or a huge dining room, but it’s known for its cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The menu is a fairly standard cross section of Chinese fare. Don’t miss the crab cheese wontons, a crispy fried specialty. The lo mein and sweet and spicy chicken also get high marks from locals.
Coal Mine Dragon
A small, quaint place with simple wood décor and a large fish aquarium, Coal Mine Dragon samples cuisine from all over the Chinese culinary landscape. They kick things up with fine names for their entrees, like Sesame Sensations, Out for Orange or Incredible Curry. Don’t miss the roasted duck or seafood hotpot. Take-out and delivery dining are both available.
Little Basil Asian Grill
Little Basil Asian Grill offers a little bit of a continental bent to Chinese cuisine, branching out liberally into other Asian dishes. There’s Japanese tempura, Thai curries, and plenty of noodles. There are plenty of vegetarian entrees to choose from, and they offer the option of turning most dishes meatless upon request. Take-out and delivery are both available.
